Matheus Alvarenga Diniz

Baritone. Born in Recife, Brazil, in 1997. Since 2023, he studies at the Reina Sofia School of Music’s “Alfredo Kraus” Fundación Ramón Areces Voice Chair with professor Juliane Banse. He has been granted scholarships by MAEC/AECID and Fundación Albéniz.

He began his musical training at the age of 14 and studied scholar voice aged 17. He was a student at the Pernambucano Conservatory of Music with professor Rosemary Carlos, he also participated in masterclasses with Tatiana Vanderlei, Miguelangelo Cavalcanti, Lucia Duchonová, Marcel Boone, Carmen Monarcha, Céline Imbert, Edineia Oliveira, Rosana Lamosa, and Bo Skovhus, among others. During his musical career, he has performed solos in works such as Handel’s “Messiah”, Mozart’s “Requiem”, Beethoven’s “Ninth Symphony”, Bach’s “Magnificat” and “St. Matthew Passion”, and Schubert’s “Mass in G major”. Additionally, he was part of the chorus in Vivaldi’s “Gloria”, Luis Alvares Pinto’s “Te Deum Laudamus”, Bach’s “St. John Passion”, and Rheinberger’s “Stabat Mater”. He has worked with outstanding conductors like Apolonio Ataíde, Jadson Oliveira, Gilson Celerino, Nilson Galvão, Rolf Beck, Alex Klein, André dos Santos, and Gregory Carreño. He has also performed at the Trancoso Voice Academy, FEMUSC and, as guest soloist, at the Virtuosi Festival.

As a student of the School, he is part of the Fundación Orange Voces Tempo Ensemble.
