Nedley Antonio Robles Jimenez

Born in Oaxaca de Juárez, Mexico, in 2004. Since 2023, he studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Fundación Damm Oboe Chair with professor Hänsjorg Schellenberger. He has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albeniz and an accommodation scholarship by Santander México. Furthermore, he plays a F. Lorée Étoile oboe loaned as an instrument scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

He began his studies at the age of five at the Libertad Children and Youth Orchestra. At the age of 14, he entered the Oaxaca Symphony Orchestra and the State Symphony Band. In 2020 he was accepted in the Music School of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) to study the Bachelor’s Degree in Oboe with professor Alejandro Tello Zamudio.

He has attended masterclasses by Tamer Edlebi, Yarile Fernández Torres, David Harris, William Welter, and Víctor Anchel. He has also performed as oboist with the Oaxaca Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mexican National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Pasatono Project Mexican Orchestra, and currently, with the Eduardo Mata Youth College Orchestra of the UNAM.

In 2022, he was awarded the second place at the Sally van den Berg Award, part of the College Oboe Festival, being the youngest competitor and not holding degree studies yet.

As a student of the School, he has performed with the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Péter Csaba, and he is currently part of the O Globo Quintet.
