The Santander Music and Academy Encounter brings together the great international masters of music with the new promises of tomorrow. The artistic directors of the Encounter, Márta Gulyás and Luis Fernando Pérez, choose each of the participants through open auditions among the students of the most prestigious schools in Europe.

In Santander, around sixty of these young people work in the mornings with the teachers in master classes and rehearsals. The result of the work in the classroom is then transferred to a series of concerts where teachers and students share the stage. The concert program takes place in the Argenta and Pereda halls of the Palacio de Festivales, in the Palacio de la Magdalena, as well as in various venues in some twenty towns in Cantabria.

The piano chosen for this concert is the handcrafted Yamaha S5X piano.
