Encounter of Santander
Soprano, born in Dagua (Colombia) in 1995. Since 2023, she has been studying at the “Alfredo Kraus” Fundación Ramón Areces Voice Chair of the Reina Sofía School of Music, under the guidance of professor Juliane Banse. She is a scholarship recipient of Fundación Santo Domingo and Fundación Albéniz. In 2024, she received the Diploma for the Most Outstanding Student of her chair from Her Majesty Queen Sofía.
She began her musical training with her father and at the Chicoral School of Music, continuing her education until studying Lyrical Singing at the University of Valle. She has also taken part in masterclasses given by Joyce DiDonato, Bo Skovhus, Nikolái Schukoff, among others. She has won, among other awards, the Pula K. Jacobi Prize and the Prolírica de Antioquia Award at the Linus Lerner International Opera Singing Competition held in Medellín, Colombia; the award for 'Best Lied Interpretation' at the Alcalá de Henares International Opera Singing Competition; first prize at the inaugural lyrical singing competition held at the Santiago de Cali Municipal Theatre; and the Colombia Filarmónica Voice Award from the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra. She has been part of the cast in operas such as La Traviata and Lucia di Lammermoor, performed at the Santiago de Cali Municipal Theatre in 2018 and 2019, respectively. She was also selected by the Colón Theatre in Bogotá to perform the role of Echo in Richard Strauss’s opera Ariadne auf Naxos.
As a student of the School, she has performed as a soloist with the Fundación EDP Camerata, conducted by Giovanni Guzzo, and has been a member of the Fundación Orange Voces Tempo Ensemble.
