AIE Masterclasses

The AIE Masterclass Program is an essential part of the pedagogical plan of the Reina Sofía School of Music. It complements the core curriculum taught in the different professorships and approaches music education from a diverse and pluralistic perspective.

In the AIE Masterclasses, students have the opportunity to work personally with guest teachers, selected from among the best professionals in the international arena, the opportunity to learn about different styles of interpretation, and to appreciate different techniques.

All students must attend a minimum of 3 complete master classes of their choice, and their attendance is reflected in the certificate of studies.

Fernando Encinar Guest Artists Programme

The Fernando Encinar Guest Artists Program is specifically focused on the area of singing, also complementing the core curriculum and addressing vocal teaching from a technical and artistic approach.

In the program, singing students have the opportunity to work individually with renowned guest artists, selected from among the best singers and teachers in the international lyric field, which allows them to appreciate different interpretive styles and deepen their vocal technique in a comprehensive manner.

Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation Programme

The Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation Program is a subject of the Master’s Degree in Musical Performance at the Reina Sofía School of Music and is carried out thanks to the collaboration of the Banco Sabadell Foundation and If! Foundation.

The program has about 20 students each year and relies mostly on the methodology of Learning by doing, with the realization of a real project, in group. Through the design and implementation of this project, students learn notions, among others, of budgetary and administrative management, teamwork, communication and digital marketing, production.

Renaissance, Baroque and Classicism

Société Générale Historical Interpretation Program

The Société Générale Historical Performance Program aims to expose students at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía to the various performance traditions existing from the Renaissance (through the Baroque) and up to Musical Classicism, through the study of their stylistic characteristics, repertoire, history, and the evolution of instruments, etc. These aspects will enable students to integrate knowledge and practices into their performance that until recently were exclusive to specialists, and which are increasingly necessary in today’s musical profession.

The Société Générale Historical Interpretation Program has Paul Goodwin, a renowned English conductor, current director of the Carmel Bach Festival of California and with a great dedication in educational projects, as a tenured professor. And he is accompanied on the faculty by, Lina Tur Bonet Assistant professor of strings, Marco Testori Assistant professor of continuo and Daniel Espasa Assistant professor of harpsichord.

Admission

The only selection criterion is the talent of the candidate. The process consists of several phases:
