The Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation Program is a subject of the Master’s Degree in Musical Performance at the Reina Sofía School of Music and is carried out thanks to the collaboration of the Banco Sabadell Foundation and If! Foundation.

This project was born in the academic year 2016-2017 as a result of an analysis that reveals that young musicians face a labor scene largely determined by multiple jobs, temporality and mobility. The School’s concern to improve its training offer and prepare its students for their future professional careers results in the Entrepreneurship Program, where students develop skills that go beyond interpretation and, at the same time, are aware of the role they play as artists in the society around them.

The program has about 20 students each year and is largely based on the methodology of Learning by doing, with the realization of a real project, in group. Through the design and implementation of this project, students learn notions, among others, of budgetary and administrative management, teamwork, communication and digital marketing, production.

The School, in addition to providing the projects financially, makes available to students a tutor to guide and advise them during all stages. The projects are proposed directly by the students, and must present a challenge of social, artistic, technological or environmental innovation.
