Chamber music, in addition to being a key genre in the history of music, is a highly relevant specialty in the academic training of young musicians, as it contributes to their development and artistic maturation.
The International Chamber Music Institute of Madrid was founded in 2005 as an initiative of the Ministry of Culture, the Community of Madrid, the City Council of Madrid, the Caja Madrid Foundation, and the Albéniz Foundation, to consolidate a center for top-level chamber music activity of international character in the artistic and academic life of Madrid. With almost 20 years of experience, the Institute has confirmed that there is a demand from young musicians around the world for a high-level specialization center where they can concentrate and perfect their skills in this repertoire for a period of 1 or 2 years.
The Institute is aimed at students who have completed or are completing their higher education, with the aim of providing them with all the necessary knowledge for comprehensive training: interpretive ability through all styles, ability to integrate into ensembles of the most diverse formats, and development of leadership roles.
The groups integrated into the Strings department are selected annually through an open audition process. The groups integrated into the Wind and Piano Groups departments are formed with students from the School.
Auditions will be held in person at the School, and exceptionally, a high-quality video may be submitted as an alternative. The complete process can be found at the following link:
