An unforgettable
music experience
The Young Artists Summer Camp is a bilingual programme based on the pedagogical principles of the Reina Sofía School of Music:
- Very high-level instrumental teaching with individual classes and a focus on chamber music.
- Solid artistic development with “Building an Artist”, “Listening to Music” and Wellbeing workshops.
- Memorable experience of performing on the stage of the Sony Auditorium.
- Opportunity to live with young people from all over the world sharing a passion for music in society.

The faculty of the Young Artists Summer Camp is made up of professional musicians with a close professional relationship with the Reina Sofía School of Music, all of them chosen under the academic criteria of the School.

It has been an experience that I will never forget: for all those smiles you see every day when you get up with all your friends, and also for being able to meet children who come from other countries. I would say that what I liked most about the Summer Camp was the teaching in general, because I think the private classes and lessons were very good, as the teachers cared a lot about me and my playing; we also had many complementary classes, such as practicing without a score or instrument, and I think those are other very important skills that you have to learn from music.

I believe that its focus on individual learning and the power of your own instrumental interpretation, and the way it allows you to grow as an instrumentalist, is something I have not seen anywhere else. So you realize how you can improve on your own.

I think what I liked most about the Summer Camp was meeting different people, with different backgrounds, from all over the world. I have learned a lot about different cultures and countries, and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to live this experience and be able to take everything I have learned back to the United States.

I have had many new experiences, such as playing with an accompanying pianist, and I have been taught a better technique, a better posture so that I can have better sound and better projection. Regarding chamber music, it has been something more or less new to me since I had never had the opportunity to play as a soloist. In addition, this Summer Camp has given me friends that I will carry in my heart and who are super good musicians.

What I like most about the summer camp is, first of all, that it is a unique and precious experience, in addition to the music. I also love having the opportunity to visit the city’s monuments, which are incredible. And finally, all the teachers and staff prepared everything perfectly.

What I liked most was being able to share an environment with new people who have taught me to give the best of myself, both teachers and students. My teacher has taught me to improve my sound and that I can always give more of myself. He has taught me how I can study daily and that I have to be consistent for this to have a good result.
