Mezzo-soprano Paola Leguizamón was born in Bogotá D.C. (Colombia) in 1991. Between 2020 and 2023, she studied at the “Alfredo Kraus” Voice Chair Fundación Ramón Areces at the Reina Sofía School of Music, with Professor Susan Bullock CBE, among others.

In 2013, she won second prize at the National Singing Competition (Colombia). In 2015, she was a finalist and received a special mention at the International Singing Competition in Trujillo (Peru). In 2016, she took part in the Scuola Italia summer programme in Sant Angelo in Vado (Italy) and was selected for the International Opera Studio in Gijón (Spain). In 2018, she won the Ciudad de Bogotá singing prize in the Excellence category and the Victoria de los Ángeles prize for Best Performance of an Art Song, which enabled her to participate as a guest at the LIVE Victoria Festival in Barcelona and in the Notas de Ambigú series at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid in 2019. That same year, she was also awarded the first female prize at the Maria Callas International Competition in São Paulo (Brazil). Her roles include Angelina (“La Cenerentola”) and Rosina (“Il Barbiere di Siviglia”), among others.

As a student at the School, she has participated in masterclasses with Adrian Thompson. Furthermore, she has performed as a soloist with the Sinfonietta (conducted by Johannes Kalitzke) and in the concert series La Generación Ascendente (Auditorio Nacional), Chamber Music in the Heritage Cities of Spain (Úbeda), and 21st Century Soloists.
She has also been part of the Voces Tempo Trio of the Orange Foundation.
