He was born in Kyiv (Ukraine). He began his piano studies with his aunt, Lyudmila Gavrina, and his mother, Tatiana Gladkova. He later continued his training with Professor Valery Sagaidachny at the Kyiv Special Secondary Music School. In 1997 he graduated from the Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, where he was awarded the Soloist Diploma with Honours.
Between 1995 and 1998 he continued his training in the Banco Santander Foundation Piano Chair at the Reina Sofía School of Music under the guidance of Professors Dmitri Bashkirov and Galina Eguiazarova. In both 1997 and 1998 he was awarded the Diploma for the Most Outstanding Student of his Chair by Her Majesty Queen Sofía.

He has taken part in masterclasses with Vitaly Margulis, Sergio Perticaroli, Leon Fleisher, Esther Yellin, Menahem Pressler, András Schiff, Claude Frank and Pavel Gililov, among others.
Since 2014 he has been a Piano Professor at the “Encore Music Projects International Summer School” (England). Since 2003, he has been a collaborative pianist and teacher in the Telefónica Violin Chair at the Reina Sofía School of Music, under Professor Zakhar Bron. He also held the same position in Professor Hansjörg Schellenberger’s Oboe Chair between 2000 and 2009.
Over these years he has also worked in masterclasses given by professors such as Gordon Hunt, Alex Klein, Stefan Schilli (oboe), Silvia Markovici, Igor Ozim, Ana Chumachenko (violin), Natalia Shakhovskaya (cello), Jaime Martín (flute), Klaus Thunemann (bassoon), Radovan Vlatković (horn), Rainer Zepperitz (double bass), Eduard Brunner and Paul Meyer (clarinet).
He has received numerous awards, including the Grand Prize, First Prize and two Special Prizes at the 9th Da Cidade do Porto International Piano Competition (Porto, 1992); First Prize and the Gold Medal at the 1st Lysenko International Competition (Kyiv, 1992); and First Prize and the Prize for Best Performance of the compulsory work at the Minsk Spring Belarus Republic Piano Competition (Belarus, 1992). In 2002 he received the Award for Best Collaborative Pianist at the 10th Acisclo Fernández Carriedo International Singing Competition. As a member of the Exodus Quartet, he won First Prize at the 4th Guadamora Chamber Music Competition (Pozoblanco, 2003). He has also served on juries for international competitions such as the Ibiza Piano Competition and the Antón García Abril Piano Competition (Teruel).

He has also performed at the 12th Ciudad de Úbeda International Music Festival, the 8th International Music Festival (Toledo, 2002), the Zakhar Bron and His School series, the Kronberg Cello Festival 2007, the Guildford International Music Festival 2009, and the Menuhin Festival Gstaad 2010, among others. Since 2001 he has taken part in the Santander Encounter of Music and Academy.
He has given concerts in countries such as Ukraine, Germany, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Japan, Mongolia, the Czech Republic, Russia and Switzerland. During his time in Spain he has performed at venues such as the National Auditorium of Music, the Juan March Foundation, Madrid’s Royal Theatre, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, and the Cantabria Festival Palace.

Since 2005 he has formed a duo with the Mongolian pianist Mendmaa Dorzhín, with whom he has won several prizes at the 7th edition of the Grieg International Competition in Oslo.
