In recent years, pianist Carlos Sanchis Aguirre has collaborated in the opera seasons of theatres such as the Paris Opera, Madrid’s Teatro de la Zarzuela, Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu, Jerez’s Teatro Villamarta, Paris’s Théâtre de l’Athénée, the Dijon Opera and Valencia’s Palau de les Arts, working with conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Juanjo Mena, Diego Matheuz, Guillermo García Calvo and Jader Bignamini. He works with singers such as Anna Netrebko, Anna Pirozzi, Saioa Hernández, Ambrogio Maestri, Luis Cansino and Freddie de Tommaso. In the world of lied, he forms a regular duo with soprano Aida Gimeno, giving numerous concerts in Spain and France, with notable appearances at Barcelona’s Palau de la Música Catalana and Madrid’s Teatro de la Zarzuela.
He specialises in opera and in collaboration with singers, and is a member of the Paris Opera Academy, the Centre de Perfeccionament at Valencia’s Palau de les Arts, and the Georg Solti Accademia in Venice, and has worked as a Junior Fellow in piano accompaniment at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
He trained at the conservatoires of Geneva and Zaragoza with Dominique Weber and Miguel Ángel Ortega Chavaldas, and in 2017 received a scholarship from the Rotary Club of Madrid. In 2018, he also received a scholarship to join the Académie Musicale de Villecroze (France). A member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, the Nationaal Jeugdorkest (Netherlands) and the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, he also collaborates with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève and the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Paris.
Since the 2024–2025 academic year, he has been a Collaborative Pianist Professor in the “Zubin Mehta” Conducting Chair at the Reina Sofía School of Music, with Professor Nicolás Pasquet.
