In recent years, pianist Carlos Sanchis Aguirre has collaborated in the opera seasons of theaters such as the Paris Opera, the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Teatro Villamarta in Jerez, the Théatre de l’Athenée in Paris, the Dijon Opera, and the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, working with conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Juanjo Mena, Diego Matheuz, Guillermo García Calvo, and Jader Bignamini. He works alongside singers such as Anna Netrebko, Anna Pirozzi, Saioa Hernández, Ambrogio Maestri, Luis Cansino, and Freddie de Tommaso. In the world of lieder, he forms a stable duo with soprano Aida Gimeno, performing numerous concerts in Spain and France, notably at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona and the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid.
He specializes in the world of opera and in collaboration with singers, being a member of the Paris Opera Academy, the Centre de Perfeccionament of the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, the Georg Solti Accademia in Venice, and working as a Junior Fellow in piano accompaniment at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
He trained at the conservatories of Geneva and Zaragoza with Dominique Weber and Miguel Ángel Ortega Chavaldas, and was awarded a scholarship in 2017 by the Rotary Club of Madrid. In 2018, he was also awarded a scholarship to be part of the Académie Musicale de Villecroze (France). A member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, the Nationaal Jeugdorkest (Netherlands), and the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, he also collaborates with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, and the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Paris.
Since the 2024-2025 academic year, he has been a Professor Pianist Correpetitor of the “Zubin Mehta” Conducting Chair at the Reina Sofía School of Music, with Professor Nicolás Pasquet.
