She was born in Havana (Cuba) in 1962. She completed her initial musical studies in Havana (Cuba) at the Manuel Saumell and Amadeo Roldán Conservatories, under the guidance of the esteemed professor Teresita Junco.

She received a Master of Fine Arts degree as a concert pianist, accompanying pianist, and piano teacher in 1986 from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, in the class of Valery Kastélsky, an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. In 1987, she continued her postgraduate studies (interpretive assistantship) at the same institution, graduating in 1989 with the highest honors. She participated in the Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition in 1987 in Santander, and the Viotti International Music Competition in 1986 in Vercelli (Italy), where she was a semifinalist.

Since the 2002-2003 academic year, she has been a Professor and Accompanist in the Aline Foriel-Destezet Cello Chair at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid, alongside Professor Ivan Monighetti. She also teaches at the Padre Antonio Soler Conservatory in El Escorial.

She has participated as a pianist in masterclasses and international courses given by the Bach Academy of Stuttgart, under the direction of Helmuth Rilling, the cellists Natalia Gutman, Philippe Müller, Frans Helmerson, David Geringas, and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, and the bassoonist Klaus Thunemann. She has also given chamber music recitals with the French violinist Maurice Hasson, professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and the American clarinetist Marian Liebowitz, professor at the University of San Diego.

As a performer, she has appeared in Russia, Italy, France, Cuba, Venezuela, Uruguay, Portugal, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Japan, and Spain; in the Rachmaninoff and Maly Halls of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Pushkin and Glinka Museums in Moscow, the Hall of Arms of the Kremlin, the Gulbenkian Cultural Center in Paris and Lisbon, the Münsterhof in Strasbourg, the National Auditorium and the Conde Duque Palace in Madrid; the Petit Palau in Barcelona; in the Teatro Principal in Vitoria, the Amadeo Roldán in Havana, and the Casa da Música in Porto, among others. She was invited to the 1st and 2nd International Ibero-American Music Festivals of 2000 and 2001 in the city of Moscow and to the Music and Academy Encounters of Santander between 2002 and 2018. She has also made recordings for Sony Spain, Spanish, Russian, Cuban, and Venezuelan radio and television.

From 1986, she was a professor in the Piano Department of the Higher Institute of Art of Havana, and from 1994 to 2002, she served as a teacher in the Mérida State Symphony Orchestra and the University of Los Andes in Venezuela. Her students have been awarded prizes in National and International Competitions, such as Val Tidone (Italy) in 2004, (Italy, 2004 and 2018), Piano & Artists, (Madrid, 2010), Young Piano Stars, (Germany 2017) and Valletta (Malta, 2017 and 2018) and Piano & Artists, in Madrid, in 2010. She has taught courses on teaching methodology and piano performance in Spain, Cuba, and Venezuela.
