Tenor, born in Havana (Cuba) in 2000. Since 2023, he has been studying at the “Alfredo Kraus” Voice Chair of the Ramón Areces Foundation at the Reina Sofía School of Music, with Professor Juliane Banse. He is a recipient of scholarships from the Ramón Areces Foundation and the Albéniz Foundation. In 2026, he received the Diploma for the most outstanding student of his chair from Her Majesty Queen Sofía.
He began his career in 2019, alongside soprano Milagros de los Á. Soto Castillo, with whom he studied until 2023. At the same time, he attended private lessons in Theory, Solfege, and Music History with Dr. C. Paula María Sánchez Ortega, and has also participated in masterclasses given by Bo Skovhus, Nikolái Schukoff, Eva-Maria Westbroek, and Christoph Prégardien.
In 2020, he auditioned at the Teatro Lírico Nacional de Cuba (TLNC) for the role of Florestan in Ludwig van Beethoven’s opera “Fidelio,” and was selected. From that point on, he became associated with the company as a Guest Artist, which has enabled him to receive coaching and take part in activities and concerts, workshops, and more.
Daniel has sung many times as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba—under the baton of Maestro Enrique Pérez Mesa—as well as with the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso under Principal Conductor Maestro Yhovany Duarte. He has also been invited to sing on two occasions before the President of the Republic of Cuba and took part in the 60th Anniversary Gala of the Teatro Lírico Nacional de Cuba.
Also as a soloist, he has collaborated on two occasions with the Air and Space Force Band, singing in its annual concerts at the Symphonic Hall of the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid; he performed at the annual charity galas of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in February 2025 and 2026; and he sang Haydn’s Paukenmesse at the Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba, with the orchestra of that city under the baton of the directors of the Zubin Mehta Orchestra Conducting Chair of the Reina Sofía School of Music.
In August 2026, Daniel made his debut in the role of Monostatos in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” at the Santander International Festival, sharing the stage with renowned figures such as tenor Javier Camarena and soprano Kathryn Lewek, among others, under the musical direction of Maestro David Afkham and the artistic direction of tenor Rolando Villazón.
Throughout his training and further development, he has participated in masterclasses with tenor Rolando Villazón, baritone Bo Skovhus, tenor Nikolai Schukoff, baritone Christopher Robertson, mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, and pianist Malcolm Martineau.
He holds a Law Degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Havana, with a Gold Degree, the Scientific Merit Award, and as an Honor Graduate of the University of Havana.
