Madrid, June 18, 2021.- Music is one of the elements capable of defying the passage of time, uniting us regardless of our origin, and making us travel through our memories. A Song for the Moon tells us about the fundamental role that music plays as a point of union between people.
The opera for families “A Song for the Moon”, co-produced by the Reina Sofía School of Music, can be enjoyed on the last weekend of June, 26 and 27, at 12:00 p.m., at the Antonio Machado Cultural Center (San Blas – Canillejas District) within the program of 21distritos.
Five singers from the “Alfredo Kraus” Fundación Ramón Areces Singing Chair of the Reina Sofía School will stage and perform this children’s opera recommended for children between 6 and 10 years old, in which the artistic team is made up of professionals from the Amsterdam Opera, La Monnaie de Bruselas, the Aix-en-Provence Festival, and the Reina Sofía School, as an enoa project (European Network of Opera Academies) and co-financed by the Creative Europe program of the European Union.
The European enoa program is a European network of opera academies that supports and accompanies artists in the opera sector – creative artists and performers – in the development of their professional careers.
After ten years of international cooperation in the field of training and creation, the network is convinced that the future of opera in Europe involves opening the sector to a more diverse range of artists, together with an expansion of the repertoire to include innovative operas that reflect the problems of today’s world.
Access to this concert, organized in collaboration with the Madrid City Council, 21distritos and enoa, is free until the permitted capacity is reached according to the security measures established against Covid-19. Tickets will be distributed starting 2 hours before the start of the performance.
