Madrid, October 1, 2026.- Fundación Casa de México en España and Fundación Albéniz have formalized an agreement to contribute to the construction of the main auditorium of the new building of the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía.
The agreement includes a donation by Fundación Casa de México en España, allocated entirely to finance the new auditorium. The contribution will be made progressively, in accordance with the progress of the construction work.
The new space will bear the name Auditorio Valentín Diez Morodo, General President and patron of Fundación Casa de México en España, in recognition of his commitment to culture and music education.
This initiative continues the collaboration between both institutions and reinforces their commitment to education, culture, and the creation of new opportunities for the development of talent, while strengthening the ties between Mexico and Spain.
Promoting Culture and Music Education
The collaboration is part of the signing of the agreement between Fundación Casa de México en España and Fundación Albéniz, and of Fundación Casa de México en España’s commitment to developing cultural and educational initiatives that help strengthen ties between Mexico and Spain, as well as the mission of Fundación Albéniz and the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía to promote excellence in music education and bring music closer to society.
The construction of the auditorium is part of the project for the new building of the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía and will provide a space dedicated to performance, education, and the dissemination of music.
Ximena Caraza Campos, General Director of Fundación Casa de México en España, stated:
“For Fundación Casa de México en España, supporting the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía means investing in talent, education, and culture as a legacy for future generations. This collaboration reflects our conviction that music is a universal language that unites, inspires, and brings cultures closer together.”
Paloma O’Shea, President of Fundación Albéniz, stated:
“I wish to express my gratitude to Fundación Casa de México en España and to Valentín Diez Morodo for their generosity and their trust in our project. We hope that the new building of the School will be a meeting point between society and music in Madrid, and the Auditorio Valentín Diez Morodo will be its heart: a place where our students will share their talent with the public and where Mexico and Spain will continue to come together through music.”
With this agreement, Fundación Casa de México en España and Fundación Albéniz expand a collaboration that has already enabled the development of joint initiatives in support of Mexican musical talent. In March 2026, both institutions announced an agreement to support the education of young Mexican musicians through the Fundación Casa de México en España Scholarship program, in its Academic Training modality.
The new collaboration represents a further step in this institutional relationship and will contribute to the creation of a space dedicated to education, performance, and gathering around music.
