The Reina Sofía School of Music and the Aon Spain Foundation Sign a Collaboration Agreement

Madrid, February 6, 2025.- With the aim of supporting the dissemination of Art in society and promoting equal opportunities for vulnerable people and groups, Fundación Aon España and the Reina Sofía School of Music have signed a collaboration agreement.

Paloma O’Shea, Founding President of the Reina Sofía School of Music, and Pedro Tomey, General Director of the Aon Spain Foundation, have signed a collaboration agreement whereby the Aon Spain Foundation will reinforce its mission of socio-labor integration of vulnerable people by supporting and hosting the workshops and musical projects developed by the School with these groups. In addition, both entities will collaborate in the organization of a benefit concert in favor of those affected by the DANA and to promote the socio-labor integration of people at risk of exclusion, which will commemorate the X Anniversary of the Aon Spain Foundation. The benefit concert will take place in the Sony Auditorium of the Reina Sofía School.

The Reina Sofía School of Music, committed to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, works for the artistic and personal development of young musicians and for the dissemination of music in society. The School firmly believes in the power of music to transform people and advance societies, which is why many of its concerts and workshops focus on musical awareness and the benefits it brings to groups at risk of social exclusion.

For the Reina Sofía School, this agreement is part of its proactive policy of creating alliances with organizations that work to achieve a better society, as Paloma O’Shea has pointed out: “The collaboration with the Aon Foundation fits perfectly with the dual mission that the School has had since its birth. On the one hand, contributing to the development of culture with the training of our young musicians, and, on the other hand, bringing music closer to society under the protection of this Art as an instrument of cohesion and social development.

For his part, Pedro Tomey expressed that “it is a satisfaction to collaborate with the Reina Sofía School of Music to jointly contribute to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment, enrich the cultural life of society and promote access to music as a tool for social transformation”. He also added: “This year we wanted to hold a benefit concert to help those affected by the DANA and promote the socio-labor integration of people at risk of exclusion through music. There is no better place to carry out this solidarity act, in which we will commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Aon Foundation, than this emblematic School, which reflects the values and commitment that have guided our work throughout this decade”.
