Madrid, February 1, 2022.- The Reina Sofía School of Music celebrates the sixth edition of its summer programs.
Summer Camp Music and Culture, to be held in Santander from June 27 to July 10, is open to students between 10 and 14 years old of string instruments (violin, viola, and cello) and piano and may be opened to other instruments (flute, clarinet, bassoon, oboe, double bass, horn, trumpet, classical guitar, lyrical singing) depending on demand (with a minimum of three students per instrument).
The summer experience will be a cultural immersion in the musical world with performance and theoretical music classes, cultural activities, and sports on weekends, balancing the intensity of the instrumental activity. It is open to all levels and is a great choice as a prelude to the “Young Artists” program.
Participants will combine their individual classes, chamber music, choir, musical reading, and the master classes “Practicing tips” where the teachers will offer their own experience when facing stage fright and musical tests at the ‘Ataúlfo Argenta’ Conservatory, with recreational and cultural activities, as well as sports on weekends. They will attend closed rehearsals of the concerts of the XXI Santander Music and Academy Encounter, a music festival throughout Cantabria organized by the School, and more cultural activities, which will make their time in the program a very enriching experience, always with music as the protagonist.
For its part, Summer Camp Young Artists, in Madrid, from July 11 to 24, is aimed at young people of intermediate and advanced levels with at least two years of experience playing an instrument and previous musical training, aged between 12 and 18 years.
Participants will develop a 100% musical experience in the facilities of the Reina Sofía School of Music, consisting of instrument technique in individual classes, rehearsals, chamber music, master classes “Building an Artist” that will help them to enter the professional world of music (preparing their curriculum, auditions, exams, competitions, injury prevention, etc.), in addition, they will receive classes in musical reading and body technique as well as musical interpretation where the stage of the Sony Auditorium will become the extension of the classroom.
All participants will be educated in skills linked to the Reina Sofía School, such as: perseverance, dedication, teamwork, a high level of responsibility, and promotion of dialogue between cultures through music and art. In both programs, the student will be able to develop their artistic skills with the best teachers, in an environment conducive to it and facilities of the highest quality.
At the end of each program, the young participants will perform in front of their own family and friends. A successful musical show as the culmination of two weeks of learning in an unforgettable summer.
