Sir András Schiff Conducts the Freixenet Chamber Orchestra of the Reina Sofía School of Music

Madrid, June 1, 2022.- Next Saturday, June 25, at 7:30 p.m., the Freixenet Chamber Orchestra of the Reina Sofía School of Music will perform at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid.

The direction will be in charge of the Hungarian maestro Sir András Schiff, principal conductor of this orchestral ensemble. The program consists of a very attractive repertoire, with the well-known Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G major BWV 1048 by Johann Sebastian Bach, the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 17 in G major, KV. 453 by Wolfgang A. Mozart and the Symphony No. 5 in B flat major, D.485 by Franz Schubert. Tomás Alegre, a student since 2017 of the Piano Chair of the Banco Santander Foundation at the Reina Sofía School, will perform as a piano soloist.

This concert is the last of the Rising Generation 2022 cycle, in which each year the Reina Sofía School of Music presents its best performers to the public of Madrid. The cycle was born in 1993 to recreate new versions of the great works of the repertoire, and to channel the need for expression of young musicians.

The concert is in collaboration with ASISA within the cycle of concerts celebrating the 30th anniversary of the School.
