Ádám Szokolay

Ádám Szokolay

Born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1996. He is winner of the 2019 Bartók World Competition and has given concerts in Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Salle Cortot in Paris, National Philharmonic Hall in Vilnius and Great Hall of the Budapest Liszt Academy of Music. In 2021 he performed a program of chamber works with violinist Boris Garlitsky at the Villa Music Festival, and in 2022 the BBC Radio broadcasted his recital works by Béla Bartók. As a soloist, he has performed with the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Budapest Strings, and the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, among others, with conductors János Kovács, Mátyás Antal and Zsolt Hamar. He studied in New York, Weimar, Salzburg, and Budapest, and he has attended masterclasses by Ferenc Rados, György Kurtág, Richard Goode, and Claudio Martínez-Mehner.
