Julia Sánchez Abeal has been CEO of the Reina Sofía School of Music since 2014. Achieving social, cultural, and educational impact has been the goal of her career. At the School, she has fostered increased transparency and the modernization of the sponsorship system, bringing social iniciatives to the forefront and launching a novel Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation Programme.
Prior to her arrival at the School, Julia Sánchez was Director of Operations and part of the founding team of Empieza Por educar, a programme focused on fighting educational inequalities.
Sánchez began her carreer at KPMG, where she worked for 4 years and managed the Strategy and Operations Group, acting as a consultant to venture capital firms on their investing decisions, and corporate clients on their strategy, both in Madrid and London. Furthemore, she holds experience in impact investments: she worked with Acumen in Kenia analyising opportunities in the energy sector.
She has been part of the UCLA "Preparing our Women Board Members of Tomorrow Santander W50 programme, she holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from ICADE, an MBA from the Columbia Business School and a scholarship from the Barrié Foundation.
She has been selected by Mujeres & Cïa. as one of the Top 100 Women Leaders in Spain.
