Julia Sánchez Abeal has been CEO of the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía since 2014. Achieving social, cultural and educational impact has been at the goal of her professional career. At the School, she has worked to increase its impact based on the values of excellence, inclusion and innovation.
Prior to joining the School, Julia Sánchez was Director of Operations and part of the founding team of Empieza Por Educar, a programme focused on fighting educational inequalities.
She started her career at KPMG, where she worked for 4 years and was Manager of the Strategy and Operations Group in both Madrid and London offices.
Julia is a member of the Advisory Board of the Fundación Juan Entrecanales Foundation, trustee of the ‘Academy for Impact Through Music’ Foundation, member of the Advisory Board of the Teatro Real, trustee of the Adcai Foundation and Fellow of the Aspen Institute.
She has been part of the IESE-MIT ‘Global CEO Program’, has a degree in Business Administration and Management from ICADE, an MBA from Columbia Business School and a scholarship from the Barrié Foundation.
She has been selected by Mujeres & Cía. as one of the Top 100 Women Leaders in Spain.
