Encounter of Santander
The Reina Sofía School of Music Orchestra will make its highly anticipated U.S. debut at Carnegie Hall in New York next November 13.. Under the baton of its principal conductor, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, more than 70 young musicians of the School, joined by 15 members of the Colombian Youth Philharmonic, will ofer the concert "A Journey to the new world", in a colaboration that brings together young talents from all over the world.
The program opens with the vivid colors of Albéniz’s El Puerto, followed by Barber’s lyrical Violin Concerto, featuring renowned French violinist Renaud Capuçon. The evening concludes with Dvořák’s beloved Symphony No. 9, “From the New World”—a work that premiered at Carnegie Hall in 1893.
