Álvaro Padín Rosal

Born in Pontevedra, Spain, in 2003. Since 2022, he studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Fundación “La Caixa” French Horn Chair with professor Radovan Vlatković. He has been granted scholarships by Copasa and Fundación Albéniz.

He has studied at the Manuel Quiroga Professional Music Conservatory in Pontevedra with professor Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, where he graduated with Honours, and at the Castilla y Leon Music Conservatory with Martín Naveira and Roberto Bodí.

He receives lessons from Stefan Dohr, Nicolás Gómez, Laurence Woudenberg, David Cooper, Manuel Moya, Estefanía Beceiro, Jordi Ortega, David Fernández Alonso, David Bushnell, Matias Piñeira, and Pirmin Grehl (chamber music), among others.

In 2019 he entered the Galicia Youth Symphony Orchestra, and in 2021 he entered the Galicia Royal Philharmonic’s Music School, where he studied with Maestro Jordi Ortega, in addition to being part of the list of instrument players of the Pontevedra Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.

As soloist he was awarded first prize at the Pontevedra Young Musicians Competition, where he performed with the Pontevedra Conservatory Orchestra at the Palacio de Cultura in Pontevedra, among others.

As a student of the School he has been a member of the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Juanjo Mena and Péter Csaba; of the Fundación EDP Camerata, conducted by Paul Goodwin, and he has been part of the O Globo Quintet. He is currently a member of the EY Ricercata Quintet and of the Fundación Mutua Madrileña Ensemble.
