Anaís Gerarda Fernández Cerneira

Born in Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in 1992. Since 2018, she studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Fundación Ramón Areces “Alfredo Kraus” Voice Chair with professor Ryland Davies. She has been granted tuition scholarships by Grupo Inditex and Fundación Albéniz.

She started her music training at the Vigo Conservatory of Music with professors Teresa Novoa Freitas and Beatriz Riobó Agulla. She later entered the Santiago de Compostela Conservatory with Aída López and Diana Somkhieva. She has attended masterclasses by Teresa Berganza, Sarah Connolly and David Butt Philip. She has won the 2nd Peregrinos Musicales Festival, concert series organised at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela and at the Teatro Principal with the Royal Philharmonic of Galicia, conducted by maestro Maximino Zumalave, who also worked with her at the Vicente Filgueira Valverde Concert. She has performed several concerts with the Vigo 430 Symphony Orchestra. In 2017 she made her debut with Asociación de Amigos of the Vigo Opera and sang during the European premiere of Camargo Guarnieri’s Coloquio. She has also worked with the Young Enchanted Singers Lyric Association. She has been awarded first prize at the Moscow International Competition organised by the Vladimir Spivakov Association and she has also obtained an Honour Prize at the Mans Futuro Awards, which has made it easier for her to record her first album.

As a student of the School, she has been soloist with the Viesgo Camerata, conducted by Hansjörg Schellenberger. She is currently a member of the Fundación Orange Voces Tempo Ensemble.
