Andrea Pérez Pérez

Andrea Pérez began her bassoon studies at the age of eight at the Professional Conservatory of Music in Elche under the guidance of Professor Lucía Pérez. Upon completion, she pursued her higher education at the Joaquín Rodrigo Conservatory of Music in Valencia, studying with Professor Julio Pallas, graduating with the third-highest mark of her class.

In 2014, she commenced her postgraduate studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid, where she studied with Professors Klaus Thunemann, Gustavo Núñez, and Francisco Alonso. Subsequently, and at the same institution (ESMRS), she was accepted into the Chamber Music Institute, specializing in wind quintet performance.

She is a founding member of the wind quintet Globo Ensemble, with which she was awarded the prize for the most outstanding group of the Chamber Music Institute of Madrid for five consecutive academic years. The ensemble was a semifinalist at the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition held in Copenhagen in 2019, and won second prize at the Bucharest International Music Competition. They have also participated in renowned concert series such as AIEnRuta, DinamiZarte, and the Juan March concerts. The group is actively engaged in the promotion of contemporary compositions and the dissemination of chamber music.

Andrea collaborates regularly with various professional orchestras including the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra, the Navarre Symphony Orchestra, the Community of Madrid Orchestra, the Valencia Orchestra, the Extremadura Orchestra, and the Madrid Symphony Orchestra, among others. In the summer of 2020, she appeared as a soloist with the Carpe Diem Chamber Orchestra St. Petersburg, performing Mozart’s Concerto for Bassoon and Orchestra.

In her pedagogical work, she teaches bassoon at the Summer Camp held at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid. She has delivered chamber music masterclasses at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Castilla-La Mancha and the Professional Conservatory of Music of Pamplona. She has served as an interim bassoon professor at several conservatories including Arturo Soria (Madrid), Alcalá de Henares, Toledo, and Guadalajara.

In 2018, she earned a Master’s degree in Musical Performance and Research from the International University of Valencia. She currently serves as a bassoon professor at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Salamanca.
