António Areal

António Areal

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1999. Since 2025, he studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music's Fundación Banco Santander Piano Chair with professor Milana Chernyavska. He has been granted scholarships by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian and Fundación Albéniz.

He completed his piano studies with distinction at the National Conservatory of Music and trained at the Aquiles Delle Vigne International Academy. He pursued advanced studies at Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo (Porto) and Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (Barcelona), where he received awards such as the Honors with Distinction and the Anna Riera Prize studying with Denis Lossev.

He has attended masterclasses with pianists such as Arcadi Volodos and Elisabeth Leonskaja, and has given recitals in venues across Spain and Portugal, including Casa da Música and the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria. He has also participated in festivals such as the Coimbra World Piano Meeting and the Mozarteum in Salzburg. In 2024, he performed in Barcelona, invited by the LIFE Victoria Foundation, standing out for his sensitivity and interpretative maturity.

In the summer of 2025, he grave a performance with orchestra in Estónia, Narva, as a solista, under the conductor Anatoli, with great sucess and a very warm reception from the audience.
