Dávid Blaga

Born in Györ, Hungary, in 2000, he is currently completing his final year of bassoon studies at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, under the guidance of György Lakatos, István Hartenstein, and Jákob Bettermann. He began his musical training on the piano before switching to bassoon. During his studies, he has performed with symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles and also plays the contrabassoon. He has won several prizes, including 2nd place at the Moscow International Competition (2021), 3rd place at the Brno International Bassoon Competition (2024), and 1st prize at the Hungarian National Competition (2025). He currently serves as principal bassoonist of the MÁV Symphony Orchestra and has performed under conductors such as Kobayashi Ken-Ichiro, Maxim Rysanov, Christoph Eschenbach, and Thomas Sanderling.
