Guohan Tang

Guohan Tang

Born in Hunan, China, in 2000. Although he started studying violin, in 2012 he was admitted in the secondary school attached to Xinghai Conservatory of Music and changed to study viola with professor Donglei Hou. In 2018 he entered the Berlin University of Arts to study with professor Hatmut Rohde. He has participated in several festivals and competitions, such as the Carl Flesch Akademie, Tsinandali Music Festival and Oskal Nedbal International Viola Competition. He attended masterclasses by Nobuko Imai, Lars Anders Tomter, Tomas Riebl, and Roland Glassl. He was granted the Deutschland Stipendium for three years. He became a member of the Deutsche Symphony Orchestra Academy in 2021 and he received the Gerd Bucerius scholarship awarded by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben in 2022.
