Jan-Lukas Willms

Born in Hildesheim, Germany, in 1997. He received his first clarinet lessons at the age of 11. He won several awards at the Jugend Musiziert National Competition. In 2018 he started his studies at Universität der Künste Berlin with professors François Benda and Blaž Šparovec. He also attended masterclasses by Harri Mäki (Helsinki), Kilian Herold (Freiburg), and Michel Lethiec (Paris). He has performed with renowned conductors like Stefan Sanderling, Reinhard Goebel and Steven Sloane, and he has worked as a chamber musician with Heinz Holliger. In 2021 he took part in a project by the Karajan Academy (Berliner Philharmoniker) with composer Márton Illés and Patricia Kopatchinskaja. Since 2021, he holds a "Yehudi Menuhin LMN Berlin e.V." scholarship.
