Jonah Kartman

Jonah Kartman

Born in Glendale, United States, in 2001. Since 2025, he studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music, in the Telefónica Violin Chair, under Professor Christoph Poppen. He has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

He graduated from the DePaul School of Music, where he studied with Janet Sung and I-Hao Lee.

He is a member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra and a substitute with the Milwaukee Symphony. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Madison and Milwaukee Symphonies, and his performances have been broadcast by PBS and WFMT. He has played in masterclasses with Pinchas Zukerman, Chee-Yun Kim, and Arnaud Sussman, and has received awards in competitions such as the Schubert Club and Sejong. Passionate about chamber music, he has competed in Fischoff and Pasadena, and in 2024 received a scholarship from the Aspen Festival. He has also performed alongside his parents as part of the Skyline Trio.
