Karen Kuronuma

Karen Kuronuma

Born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1998. She graduated from the Tokyo University of Arts, and currently studies piano at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. At the age of 16 she won the first prize of the Academy Award of Nomura, the Iguchi Aiko Award, the award for Music Encouragement, as well as the NHK Prize at the 68th Student Music Concours of Japan, in the high school section. She was also awarded at the “Chopin for the Youngest” International Piano Competition in Poland and received the Best Award for PTNA Piano Competition category G. She has performed recitals in Hokkaido, Tokyo, Hyogo, and concerts with the Hyogo Performing Arts Centre Orchestra, with which she made her debut, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.
