Leonor Magalhães Pais

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2007. Since 2025, she studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music's Fundación Ramón Areces “Alfredo Kraus” Voice Chair, with Professor Juliane Banse. She has been granted scholarships by Fundación EDP and Fundación Albéniz.

She began her musical training at the age of five with the violin under the guidance of Suzanna Lidegran. A year later, she entered the Conservatório de Música do Porto and at the age of ten she began studying the cello. In 2021, she discovered her vocation for singing, training with Cláudia Nelson Teixeira.

She has taken masterclasses with Elizabete Matos, Bernarda Fink, Magna Ferreira and Julius Drake. She had the opportunity to work with Palmira Troufa, Fernando Marinho, Paulo Carvalho, Jaime Mota and Luís Rendas Pereira.

The following performances are particularly noteworthy: Kurt Weill's Salomon Song at Casa da Música; Handel's Sesto in Giulio Cesare at the Salão Nobre of the São Carlos National Theatre; Puccini's Mimi in La Bohème at the Coliseu do Porto; Purcel's Dido in Dido and Aeneas at the Porto International Arts and Opera Festival; and Bizet's Habanera from Carmen as a soloist at the 175th anniversary of the Souto Music Band, Santa Maria da Feira.

She was awarded at the National Singing Competition in 2024 and recognised with the ‘Prémio de Música Portuguesa’ for the best performance, also she obtained a scholarship to the Reina Sofía School Summer Camp. In 2025, at the Conservatory's Final Concert, she was awarded the ‘Prémio Orquestra do Norte’.

She is currently working on classical repertoire, including lieder by Brahms, Schubert and arias by Puccini and Donizetti.
