Manuel del Horno

Born in Alcalá de Henares, Spain, in 2002, he began studying viola at age of eight with María José Fueyo and later expanded his training with studies in composition and percussion. In 2020, he entered the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona, studying with Paul Cortese and Anna Puig, and received the Ferrer Salat Scholarship for outstanding achievement. He has performed with youth and professional ensembles, including the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, the Orquesta del Gran Teatre del Liceu, and the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra. He is also active with Le Concert Olympique and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. He has received guidance from distinguished teachers such as Nils Mönkemeyer and Pauline Sachse. Manuel is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in viola at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, under Florian Peelman.
