María de los Ángeles Gómez Rojas

Born in Barquisimeto (Venezuela) in 1988. Since 2016, she studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Fundación Ramón Areces “Alfredo Kraus” Voice Chair with professor Ryland Davies. She has been granted tuition and accommodation scholarships by Juan Carlos Escotet Rodríguez (ABANCA) and Fundación Albéniz, respectively.

She began her musical training in Barquisimeto and from 2007 to 2013 she studied at the National Experimental University of Arts (UNEA) under the guidance of Margot Pares-Reyna. She has received masterclasses from Didier Kersten, Ruggero Raimondi, Sonia Prina, Iris Vermillion, Teresa Berganza, John Graham Hall, Sarah Connolly and David Butt Philip, and during the 2018 Santander Music and Academy Encounter, from Francisco Araiza. She has participated in opera productions, recitals and concerts in Venezuela. In 2017 she sang a gala at the Teatro Real of Madrid, under the baton of maestro Plácido Domingo.

As a student of the School, she has been a member of the Fundación Orange Voces Tempo Ensemble.
