Mariam Chitanava

Born in Moscow (Russia) in 1998. Since 2022, she studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Fundación Banco Santander Piano Chair with professor Milana Chernayvska. She has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

She began her music studies at the Oborin Children Music School, with Olga Filatova, and furthered them at the Moscow Conservatory’s Central Music School, with Farida Nurizade, and at the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow, Russia, with Elena Richter. She has also received masterclasses by Nikolai Demidenko, Ralf Gothóni, and Robert Levin.

In addition to regularly offering concerts in her city, by herself and in chamber groups, she has performed in Russia, France and Italy as awards and scholarship winner. She has also played at the Rachmaninov Hall of the Conservatory and the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory’s Central Music School.

In 2015 she was chosen, among three other students, to play in Hannover. She has also performed at the Rheingau Music Festival, Germany; at the Chance aux jeunes talents concert in Versailles, France; at the Science and Culture Russian House, in Berlin and in Mimet, Rians, Aix-en-Provence (Darius Milhaud Association), Greasque and Arromanches-les-Bains, France.

As a student of the School, she has been part of the Kegelstatt Trio, the Granados Quartet, and the Fundación Mutua Madrileña Ensemble. She is currently a member of the BBDO Contrapunto and Ambage trios.
