Maximilien Lamouris

Born in Ostend, Belgium, in 1999, he began to play the bassoon at the age of seven in Budapest and moved to Belgium to study with Bert Helsen. He pursued his training in Brussels with professors Luc Loubry and Alain Cremers, as well as in Düsseldorf with Gustavo Nuñez. He started his professional career at the age of 18 in the Belgian National Orchestra as second guest bassoon. Since then, he has made his debut as guest bassoonist at the Royal Opera of Wallonia, Symfonia Assaï and the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2017, he won the second prize at the International Competition for Professional Bassoonists in the Netherlands and founded, together with his brother, the Ensemble Lamouris chamber music group.
