Meruert Karmenova

Born in Pavlodar (Kazakhstan) in 1993. She started studying violin at the Tchaikovsky Music School. She later continued at the Gnessin secondary special school and in 2012 she entered the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she graduated in 2017 under the direction of Tatiana Berkul. In 2018 she was artist-in-residence at Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel, under the guidance of Augustin Dumay. Meruert has been awarded first prize at the II International Violin Competition in Kazakhstan (Astana, 2008), at the VII International Competition of Musicians “Symphony” in Volgograd, at the VI International Violin Competition – L. van Beethoven in Austria (both in 2010) and at the XVIII Tolyatti International Competition of Music Performers (2012).
