Mila Haydon

Mila Haydon

Born in Canberra, Australia, in 2004. Since 2022, she studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Telefónica Violin Chair with professor Zakhar Bron. She has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

She began to play violin at the age of four. She has attended masterclasses at the Blackmore Academy in Berlin and the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, completing the Master’s Degree in Music in Venice. She has also attended classes in Interlaken, Madrid, Stockholm, Ankara, Zhuhai and Shanghai.

She has been awarded first prize at the Open Age Jan Bexter Memorial Strings Scholarship Solo in Wollongong Eisteddfod, in several string festivals in Canberra and in Sydney Eisteddfodas well as at the SIMC Eleveth Stockholm International Music Competition.

She was a member of the Australia National University (ANU) and the Canberra Youth Orchestra, as well as performer at the Young Performers of the Music Open School ANU. She has also been soloist with Canberra CYO Orchestra and at the Wesley Music Centre Rising Stars concert series.

As a student of the School, he has been a member of the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Juanjo Mena and Péter Csaba, and of the Fundación EDP Camerata, conducted by Christoph Poppen. She is currently a member of the Ambage Trio.
