Ondřej Benek

Born in Prague, Czech Republic, in 1999, this tenor began his career as a child performing at the National Theatre, the State Opera, and the Estates Theatre. Trained in the Kühn Children’s Choir and the Prague Children’s Opera, he graduated from the Prague Conservatory, where he studied voice and conducting. He is currently continuing his training with Simon Bode at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. He has been awarded in competitions such as the International Antonín Dvořák Competition and the Pražský pěvec. Since 2020, he has been a guest soloist at the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň and has performed at Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. His collaborations include Musica Florea and Czech Ensemble Baroque, with a repertoire ranging from early to contemporary music.
