You Wu

Born in Beijing, China, in 2005. He began taking cello lessons at the age of six with Liu Jun. At the age of ten he studied at the Central Conservatory of Music (Beijing, China) with Yu Jia and, later, with Yi-Bing Chu. Since 2018, he continued his training in the special talents class at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary, with Déri György and Varga Istyän. He won the first prizes at the David Popper International Cello Competition in 2017 and the Heran Cello Competition in 2019. He has attended masterclasses by Lynn Harrell, Miklós Perényi, Lluis Claret, Arto Noras, Franz Helmerson, and Rolan Pidoux, among others.
