Yunus Altıkanat

Born in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2000. He began his music career playing the accordion for four years. He was accepted into the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory at the age of 13 to study with professors Resit Erzin and Gozde Yasar. He has attended masterclasses around the world with numerous artists, including Alexander Rudin, Adrian Brendel, Claudio Bohorquez, Frans Helmerson, Peter Bruns, Nikolaus Trieb, and Gary Hoffman. He has also been invited to play with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under the baton of Daniel Barenboim, performing around Europe in halls and festivals such as Philharmonie de Paris, Teatro Alla Scala in Milan, BOZAR Brussels, as well as the Salzburg and Lucerne festivals. Yunus plays a 1921 Romeo Antoniazzi cello loaned by the Barenboim-Said Foundation.
