Encounter of Santander
She studied piano and keyboard at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid and she has BD in Law from the University of Deusto and a Ph.D. in Music History and Science from the University of Valladolid. She is specialized in the study and dissemination of the musical heritage, particularly in organology and musical iconography, and has taken part in several courses and conventions, both national and internationally.
She has been President of the Society of the vihuela, lute and guitar (2008-2012) and member of the Mixed Committee of the International Repertoire of Musical Iconography (2009-2012). She currently is Deputy President of Instrumenta Association for the study and dissemination of the musical instruments and their collections in Spain.
Since 2005, she leads the Research Group “Iconografía Musical UCM” and, since 2009, he is head researcher of different RDI projects on musical iconography and organology. She also teaches in the Musicology Department of the Complutense University in Madrid and in the Organological, Historical and Acoustic Principles of Instruments Chair of the Reina Sofía School of Music.
