Encounter of Santander
Ron Lepinat was born in 1975 in Herzberg (Elster). He began studying piano at the age of five with his father and later continued his training with Professor Gabriele Kupfernagel and Professor László Simon, with whom he earned his diploma.
He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in numerous concert halls in Germany and abroad, including the Berlin Philharmonie and Konzerthaus Berlin, the National Library of Austria in Vienna, and the Teatro de La Paz and Teatro Olimpo in Lima.
He has recorded several albums, notably The Art of Fugue by Johann Sebastian Bach and Una serata italiana, together with members of the RIAS Chamber Choir of Berlin.
From 2000 to 2001, he was a visiting professor of piano and chamber music at the Pedagogical University of Sucre in Bolivia.
Until 2014, he taught piano and repertoire at the Universität der Künste and the preparatory music program Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, both in Berlin.
Since 2014, he has been a piano professor at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, and since 2017, also the artistic director of the Musikgymnasium Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach.
He also regularly serves as a jury president, jury member, and author.
