Arash Rokni

Born in Tehran (Iran), he studied with Tamara Dolidze at the Tehran Music School. In Armenia, he was mentored by Giorgi Avanesov and Ashot Ghazarian and continued his studies with Markus Tomas at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig (Germany) and later with Claudio Martinez Mehner and Nina Tichman at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Germany). He has also worked frequently with Anthony Spiri (chamber music) and Andreas Staier and had the privilege to work with Ferenc Rados, Rita Wagner, Andras Kemenes, Mahan Esfahani, and Robert Levin. He has given concerts and participated in festivals and competitions in Iran, Armenia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Denmark. He won the fourth prize at the Aarhus International Piano Competition (Denmark) and the second prize and audience award at the 21st Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig (Germany). Arash has performed as a soloist in major halls in Germany such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Gewandhaus zu Leipzig, Schumann Saal Düsseldorf, BASF Ferienhaus and NDR Sendesaal Hannover. His performances have been broadcasted by WDR, MDR and NDR.
