Karla Martínez Rabanal – Havana, Cuba – 1988

Karla Martínez is a Cuban pianist who graduated with a Gold Diploma from the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana. She earned her Master’s in Musical Performance at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, studying with Dimitri Bashkirov and Denis Lossev, and completed her training at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona with Tensy Krismant.

She has won prizes in competitions such as María Clara Cullell (Costa Rica), Juventudes Musicales de Vilafranca del Penedès, Piano Cicle de Primavera (Barcelona), Amadeo Roldán and Musicalia (Cuba), among others.

She has performed across Cuba, the Americas, and Europe, and appeared as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba and the Symphony Orchestra of Oriente. She has collaborated with renowned artists such as L. Brouwer, B. Brönnimann, R. Zollman, and J. A. Méndez.
