Mariana Souto

Born in Porto, Portugal, in 1999. She began her bassoon studies at the age of 9. After completing the secondary education, she continued her training in her hometown with professor Pedro Silva. In 2022, she studied with professor Eberhard Marschall in Munich, completing her Bachelor’s, and in 2023 she entered into the class of professor Tobias Pelkner, where she currently studies her Master’s Degree. She has also been developing her contrabassoon technique under the supervision of Gernot Friedrich since 2021. Additionally, she has attended masterclasses and private lessons by Dag Jensen, Carlo Colombo and Giorgio Mandolesi, among others. Since 2022, she is a scholarship holder of the free state of Bavaria for artist in the initial phase of their work.
