Zlatka Pencheva Pencheva

Professor at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid, Zlatka Pencheva combines this position with artistic advice and double bass teaching at the Young Artists program at Reina Sofía School of Music. She obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in double bass pedagogy at the Pancho Vladigerov Conservatory of Music from Sofia, Bulgaria, with professor Petia Bagovska.



She attended to the prestigious Reina Sofía School of Music to study with Duncan McTier and Toni García. In 2022 she obtained a master’s degree in musical pedagogy at the University of La Rioja.



Awarded at several national and international competitions, she obtained the First Prize and the Gold Medal at the Svetoslav Obretenov National Competition in Bulgaria, the Fourth Prize in the International Double Bass Festival Competition in Brno, Czech Republic, and the award for most outstanding student of the double bass chair of the Reina Sofía School of Music.
