Application | 2022-2023 Auditions
The application period for the 2022-2023 academic year at the Reina Sofía School of Music is closed.
At the auditions, the only selection criterion is the talent of the student. The process consists of several rounds:
- Online application.
- 1st Round. Preselection: The Selection Committee evaluates the transcript of records and the audiovisual material of each candidate and selects those who pass to the next round.
- 2nd Round. Auditions. Check the specific requirements of each chair, as they might differ between teachers.
You can also find more information on our auditions in this brochure.
Application form
It is an online application form that requests the following information:

- Audition to which you choose to enroll (it is possible to choose one or more)
- Information on previous studies.
- Two academic references: from your Instrument teacher and headmaster, headteacher or dean. It is a courtesy measure to inform your professor and request him this reference in advance. It is not allowed to request references to a professor who is part of the panel.
- Language certificates, if you hold any.
- A personal statement.
- Artistic CV (up to 900-character text)
- Chosen pieces according to the obligatory repertoire (see specific repertoire down below)
- For the preselection round:
- Two recent recordings of contrasting pieces. At least one must be accompanied by piano.
- An optional third recording showcasting a different activity: chamber music, as a soloist...
- Payment of a €100 application fee.
Applicants to the Composition Chair must also provide a dossier including:
- Previous works, including sheet music (pdf) and, if possible, recordings that provide a short presentation of these works.
- CV that details previous studies.
