Nebel Quartet

Founded in 2020, the Nebel Quartet was formed in Munich by four young musicians from Korea, active in other string quartets in various parts of Germany: Dongchan Shin (violin), Gayoung Shin (violin), YuriYoon (viola) and Lee Yoomin (cello). Currently enrolled in the master's program at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Munich. The course has been sponsored by Quatuor Ébène, one of the most important quartets in Europe. The Nebel Quartet is currently studying with Eberhard Feltz and Hariolf Schlichtig. Since the 23-24 academic year they study at the International Institute of Chamber Music of Madrid of the Reina Sofía School of Music with Günter Pichler.

Nebel means "fog" in German, and they gave themselves the name to overcome the situation of uncertainty in which they found themselves as artists during the last two years of the pandemic. Precisely because the alphabet of "NEBEL" is symmetrical, it becomes "LEBEN". Leben is a study of how artists develop their lives and their music, if possible, even in chaos.

In 2023 they were finalists of the String Quartet Competition in Bad Tölz (Germany).
