At the beginning, the student plays the first Fantasy Piece. Following a question from the student about a specific part of the movement, Caussé suggests an alternative fingering and asks him to establish more visual connection with the pianist in order to stay together at that point.
They then go back to the beginning, and the professor remarks that this music should not be too rational — these pieces call for passion and emotional involvement. After playing it again, professor and student explore various options for a challenging intervallic leap. Caussé also gives some corrections regarding phrasing and expressiveness in certain passages.
